The video describes many of the historical sites in the City of Cupertino.  This video is an eagle project by Michael Masri, Troop 476. A special thanks go to the Cupertino Historical Society and Troop 476. 

Cupertino: 60 Years of Bringing the Community Together

 This historical documentary was originally produced as a celebration of Cupertino's 60th anniversary as an incorporated city in 2015 (1955-2015) and has been re-released for Cupertino's 65th anniversary in 2020.

A Place Called Cupertino: Early Family Memories

This documentary, produced in 1993, chronicles the early days of Cupertino through oral histories provided by members of some of the city's pioneer families. Historical photographs donated by the Cupertino Historical Museum and by the families themselves supplement these personal narratives.  Produced by the Cupertino City Channel.  (30 min.)

Warren E Hyde Junior High School (Now Middle School) Namesake

Warren Eugene Hyde was an orchardist of Apricots and Prunes. I have fond memories of playing in the orchards of   Cupertino , all throughout childhood -- even as late as high school. I remember when my best friend at the time  circa 1974, ate so many apricots, he got diarrhea so bad, it lasted for days (or at least adding the 'for days' part to the story makes it sound better). The bike ride home was incredibly uncomfortable for him -- burned into my memory. Warren E. Hyde was born on Nov 9, 1866, 11 years after his brother George, and died at the ripe old age of 90 on July 15, 1957. He is buried in the Madronia Cemetery located at 14766 Oak St. Saratoga. According to the June 17, 1898 San Francisco Call newspaper, Warren and Mabel Roseveare were married in San Jose on June 14, 1898 by Rev. F.S. Lawrence. The Cupertino General Store

In 1890, the village of West Side, now Cupertino, consisted of a blacksmith’s shop, a community hall, a cooper’s shop, a doctor’s office, the Union Church and a general- merchandise store. The Cupertino General Store was more than just a place to buy merchandise. To the people of Cupertino it was the first Santa Clara County library, post office, and social center where one learned the latest about crops and neighbors. Built by local architect Enoch Parrish, the store was originally owned by Alex Montgomery and later passed to James Dixon and Arch Wilson. The store reflected the needs of the small community, carrying everything from candy to dynamite. Visitors to the exhibit can enjoy seeing health and beauty items, hair and grooming aids, children’s toys, stationary supplies, and tools that date from 1890 through the 1940s. Cupertino and its Creeks, especially Stevens Creek, named after Elisha Stephens in 1848

De Anza completed the first overland route to San Francisco Bay when he and Father Pedro Font sighted the bay from a prominent knoll near the entry of Rancho San Antonio County Park.  The Saint Joseph of Cupertino place name is preserved today in the city of Cupertino to the east and in the Saint Joseph of Cupertino Parish Catholic Church in the city.
